Art Therapy Options Available to the Public

We believe everyone can benefit from participating in art therapy, this is why all of our Art Therapy Programs are open to everyone, no referral needed.

We offer two distinct ways to receive art therapy; individually (one-on-one) or through our seasonally available Community Group Art Therapy programs. Our philosophy is that art making is central to the healing process. We utilize creative art therapy techniques to focus on specific concerns and various approaches to art using painting, drawing, collage, sculpture and more. Our credentialed art therapists are especially equipped to work with emotional, cognitive, or physical limitations and are fully adaptable to the needs of all of our client-artists.

Individual Art Therapy for Adults & Children

  • How Does Individual Art Therapy Work?

Individuals needing or wanting more personalized therapy have the option to receive individual, or one-on-one, art therapy. This option is available to people ages 4 and up. You will be paired with a credentialed art therapist from our team who will meet with you to discuss your goals and objectives with your therapy. Individual Art Therapy sessions are one-hour in duration. All art supplies are included.

We offer Individual Art Therapy Sessions both virtually and in-person at our office. At this time we are only able to offer Virtual Art Therapy to people living in the State of Ohio.

Individual art therapy is available year round and we strongly recommend not engaging in Individual Art Therapy unless you are able to commit to at least four 1-hour sessions within a 4 month period.

  • How much does Individual Art Therapy cost?

Individual Art Therapy is $80 per session, and income based fee reductions are available to those who qualify. Please follow this link to see how much of a fee reduction you can expect to receive.

  • Art Therapist in Training Option

If Individual Art Therapy is still too expensive for you even with a fee reduction, you have the option to participate in our Art Therapy training program and receive art therapy at a drastically reduced rate of $10/session.

Art Therapy Studio works with Graduate and Post Masters art therapy students who are enrolled in established art therapy training programs. These students may assist in art therapy sessions under the supervision of an assigned art therapist so that they may learn about using art therapy with the public. With this arrangement art therapy students can provide individual art therapy sessions as a low cost alternative.

All student delivered Individual Art Therapy sessions are temporary and may not exceed 6 consecutive weeks or sessions, whichever comes first. To participate in this option, the individual must be eligible for a fee reduction (check here to see if you qualify for a fee reduction) or have written approval from the Clinical Director based on extenuating circumstances.

Schedule an appointment with an art therapist and discuss this option. This option is based on availability and the schedule of the student. You have the option of being placed on a waiting list if no students are immediately available, discuss this with the art therapist during your appointment.

Refunds will be issued in the method in which the initial payment was received. We do not hold refunds as “store credit” for future registrations. Once you have cancelled your registration your refund will be issued within 24-48 hours (about 2 days).

We understand people are getting fatigued by the pandemic, but please understand many of the client-artists we serve are immunocompromised and we want to be a safe environment for all so everyone can enjoy the healing and wellness benefits of art therapy at a time when people need it the most.
