Paul St. Denis is a nationally acclaimed watercolorist, is a Dolphin Fellow of the prestigious American Watercolor Society and listed in Who’s Who in American Art as a painter and educator. His paintings have won major awards in national competitions. The subjects of his paintings and prints depict different motifs such as: the Michigan landscape, seascape, fish, the figure and floral. His watercolors are not “traditional” in the narrow sense. They develop from “impressions” of the locations and places he has visited. Combining memory with the visual actuality, the paintings become composite in which the subject becomes subordinate to the stronger elements of design, shape, and color. St. Denis also conducts watercolor workshops, demonstrations, and acts as a juror for art organizations all over the US, Mexico, and Caribbean.
