Breathe, Relax, Create
Join Art Therapist Diane Troyer, MA, ATR-P for Breathe, Relax, Create. Each session is 90 minutes of self-care and mental repair. These evening art therapy sessions are designed to be “drop-in” events for busy professionals or individuals unable to commit to a regularly scheduled art therapy program. You can sign-up for one or all of these sessions.
Pre-registration is required for each session of Breathe, Relax, Create. Each session is $15.

August 12th, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Breathe, Relax, Create : Explore Your Senses-Part 1 (register by clicking here)
Be aware of yourself in the space, in the present moment.
This Breathe, Relax, Create session focuses on being in tune your environment. The program begins with a body scan exercise, followed by an exercise based on creating an image incorporating the 5 senses. The program will conclude with a discussion on how your environment can affect your stress level.
Supplies: Acrylic paints, 11X14 multimedia papers

Breathe, Relax, Create : Explore Your Senses – Part 2 (register by clicking here)
This session will being with a body scan exercise to help you practice mindfulness. Using modeling clay (Model Magic) participants will be guided on creating a sculpture of their own design. Let go of judgments and imagine you are a child experimenting with modeling clay for the first time. *Clay will harden as it dries.
Supplies: Model Magic of various colors, clay tools

“Moment x 1” means taking one moment at a time. This session will explore things you presently need to take one moment at a time. Participants will be guided through an exercise to create an image using line, shape and color.

September 2nd, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Breathe, Relax, Create : The Power of Poetry (register by clicking here)
During this session listen to poetry and music; bring your favorite poem if you wish to share or create one of your own. Participants will be exploring what images arise from the poetry and create their image using color, shape and line.
Supplies: Acrylic or watercolor paints, color pencils, oil or chalk pastels
